This was recorded the same weekend we did "Bubblegum", "December Boy" and an early version of "That Boy Is Mine" for "Love You". At one point we did a really cool jazzy slow version of "Bubblegum" but the tape ran out and it was lost to the ether. Anyway, this is a cover of a Jonathan Richman song originally done for a Fortuna Pop covers LP that was going to be called "Baby You're A Richman" but it ended up on our "Love You Too" covers EP. On Jonathan's version of this, he goes into "Sister Ray" in the middle but we do "Foggy Notion" instead.

Living in Australia pretty much rules me out of ever attending this festival so my annual purchase of this compilation is surely the next best thing. And I'm pleased to relate that it's up to it's usual high standard. Gavin Hellyer

Another great album - dean wareham, joanna gruesome, lonely tourist, dorotea, the chills, manhattan love suicides & spearmint are all highlights but the whole lot is pretty darn great really martin kiosk
