Recorded one Sunday after we'd played in London the night before. Carl Bevan (ex-60ft Dolls) was in charge and said "No drinking until mixing". We recorded all the backing tracks pretty much in one go and Ross (our stand in bassist) was despatched to the shop to get the drinks in. The rest of the day is hazy but these two songs sound amazing. The alcohol consumption probably explains why I sing "Synaethesia! Seeing colours all right" rather than "Synaethesia! Hearing colours all right!"

Living in Australia pretty much rules me out of ever attending this festival so my annual purchase of this compilation is surely the next best thing. And I'm pleased to relate that it's up to it's usual high standard. Gavin Hellyer

Another great album - dean wareham, joanna gruesome, lonely tourist, dorotea, the chills, manhattan love suicides & spearmint are all highlights but the whole lot is pretty darn great really martin kiosk
