Liz wrote this in 2 minutes when the idea of me and her forming a duo to support The Lovely Eggs at a gig in Cardiff was floated. I liked the song so much I stole it, wrote new words (for the verses) and recorded it without telling her. The School released a version of it too on their second LP that has a long title I can't remember right now. This version was decreed (by me) to be too fast so another (slight slower) was recorded for "Love You".

Living in Australia pretty much rules me out of ever attending this festival so my annual purchase of this compilation is surely the next best thing. And I'm pleased to relate that it's up to it's usual high standard. Gavin Hellyer

Another great album - dean wareham, joanna gruesome, lonely tourist, dorotea, the chills, manhattan love suicides & spearmint are all highlights but the whole lot is pretty darn great really martin kiosk
