To celebrate me passing the New Deal For Musicians we were given money to record some songs with a "proper" producer- Richard Jackson. He made us double track guitars and stop at certain points and bring things in here and there rather than have EVERYTHING ALL AT ONCE as we'd been doing before. In the same session we also recorded the versions of "Little Girl Blues" and "She'll Break Your Heart" that were released by Huw Stephen's Boobytrap label in May 2001. Those songs were also our calling card introduction to Track And Field thanks to Jamie from Tompaulin.

Living in Australia pretty much rules me out of ever attending this festival so my annual purchase of this compilation is surely the next best thing. And I'm pleased to relate that it's up to it's usual high standard. Gavin Hellyer

Another great album - dean wareham, joanna gruesome, lonely tourist, dorotea, the chills, manhattan love suicides & spearmint are all highlights but the whole lot is pretty darn great really martin kiosk
