It could've been the start of something big had I not ended the band almost immediately after releasing the fourth LP "Love You". Another bitter lot of lyrics wrapped up in lovely instruments and things. This was the last radio session The Loves did. I annoyed Marc Riley by saying that "Squeeze" was my favourite Velvet Underground LP. He's not played anything I've done since.

Living in Australia pretty much rules me out of ever attending this festival so my annual purchase of this compilation is surely the next best thing. And I'm pleased to relate that it's up to it's usual high standard. Gavin Hellyer

Another great album - dean wareham, joanna gruesome, lonely tourist, dorotea, the chills, manhattan love suicides & spearmint are all highlights but the whole lot is pretty darn great really martin kiosk
